Jolly old London

I just got back from a great fews days of hanging out with my friend Ginny from Lesley in London. I flew in early Monday morning. Within one hour of being in London I mixed up euros with pounds. In the airport when I was buying a train ticket into the city center I was bragging to Ginny how I put my euros into a specific pocket in my wallet so that I wouldn't get them mixed up with pounds as I was handing the ticket person a euro.

After we got into the city center Ginny and I headed over to her campus accommodation in East London. Then we decided to start doing some things. I got to do two things that I didn't get to do when I went to London the first time. One of them was going over to Abbey Road which was really cool to see. There were lot's of tourists over there taking pictures of themselves walking across the road. The cars going by must have been so annoyed by everyone taking photos. It was hard to get a good one since so many cars were coming by. There was this one guy charging five pounds for polarid photos to look like they were old fashion. Ginny and I didn't take him up on them but we did have him take a picture of us with my camera.

After Abbey Road we walked around the area a lot which was a cool chance to see different parts of London. After lunch we took the tube to the area around the London Eye. The weather out was amazing, so sunny. We were walking around the Thames for a while enjoying the weather taking lots of photos of the river and the buildings. Then we went onto the London Eye or as I kept on calling it "the eye". I was so excited to be able to finally go on the London Eye since I didn't get a chance to do last visit. Ginny was nice enough to join me on it for the second time. I was really proud of my self for not getting anxious when I was on the London Eye since I'm so afraid of heights. Though it was fine, being in the pod made me feel so secure. The one nerve racking thing was that getting onto the pod was that they didn't stop at all when we got on or off. So you kinda of have to jump. We were able to see so far, the sun was really in our eyes but it was still awesome! I'm so glad I got to finally do it!

After we went to the London Eye we enjoyed the weather and decided to walk around a lot. We walked through the Covent Gardens, Trafalgar square and Piccadilly Circus. It was such a nice way to spend the day, I can't believe how much we covered!

On Tuesday it was another gorgeous day. We headed over to Camden market and walked around there for a couple of hours. I got on cute dress and another cute top for only 1o pounds total! After we were done in Camden market we walked over to Regents Park to enjoy the weather a little bit more. It was such a pretty park. Though we were kicked off of the swings because the park managed said we were to old for it. When we were heading back from the Park I got a chance to take one of the famous London double decker buses.

For dinner we decided to celebrate pancake/Shrove Tuesday. In Ireland and The U.K they celebrate Mardi gras by eating lots on pancakes. The idea of it is to get ride of all your indulgences before the holy season. We bought some shake and bake pancakes, they were yummy but quite thin.

Overall my trip to London was great! I really think that there is something nice about going to a city a second time, it makes it more enjoyable. There's so much about London that I love, the tube the buildings. It was so much fun! The next few days I have a lot to look forward to! My aunts Anne and Susan are flying in tomorrow morning and then my good friend Em is flying in Sunday morning. I really hope that all my visitors have no problem with their flights!
