As of Friday I am officially on Spring Break! I'm so excited for the next two wees ahead of me. My break started off great with my going out to west of Ireland with API. We woke up bright and early Saturday morning and took the bus into Galway City and then took a tour bus to Connemara and saw it. It was unbelievably pretty!
After Connemara we drove over to the Kylemore Abbey, which is an old family Castle/ Monastery. It was absolutely beautiful. I ate lunch there as well as walked around the gardens and walked through the old grounds. It was pretty empty on Saturday but I heard that in the summer it is extremely packed.
Driving around county Galway was just gorgeous, I know that I keep saying this but when I drive around places like this it doesn't seem real! I drove past lots of sheep. During one point we drove past this big hurd of sheep and we stopped to take some pictures. Most of the sheep were blocked off by this fence but there was this one that was standing on the fence. I tried to run up to it to take a picture but the coach bus honked at me telling me that it was a pregnant sheep and scaring a pregnant sheep could be dangerous. I got a picture it just wasn't as close as I hoped that I'd be. I just hope I didn't scare the sheep much!
We stayed the night in Galway City. Since I had been there before I decided instead of going on the walking tour of Galway City with the rest of API that I'd take a coach tour out to the Cliffs Of Moher. On the way there we made some stops in places like The Burren. The ride over to the Cliffs was just as pretty as the ride on Saturday but possibly even more pretty! There was one point when we were at a stop and then we were not able to get out because a lot of cows were blocking us. I'm used to traffic jams being an urban girl, but not those types of ones.
When we finally got to the Cliffs they were absolutely amazing! I walked up to the top and took lots of photos. Many people walked past the signs that said don't go past this point. I've heard the views from there are amazing but I was too much of wimp to go past, I get to afraid of falling off. Supposedly many people do yearly.
Anyway I loved being able to spend this weekend in the Irish Country side. Tomorrow I will be going off to quite a different world then where I was from rural Ireland to London. This will be my second trip there and I can't wait!
